Kubota Bx 24 tlb
My baby is sick!! I have 100 houres on my bx24 and it seams that my transmission (pump) is getting noisyer by the hour. I saw my dealer and I was told ( that's ok ,there all noisy!). This is my first Kubota but not my first hydrostatic. When I first start it the noise level is tolerable but when it warms up it gets to a point that is have to shut off the engine (at idle) to hear someone talk. The noise (more like a whine) is constant but i noticed that ther is a slight vibration in the stearing wheel, if I moove it lightly the noise changes lightly. I know that the vanes out of an hydrolic vane pump will deteriorate if not looked after. I looked in the pass threads and saw nothing of the sort, does someone else have the same simptoms . I almost forgot, the oil filter has been changed (kubota), the oil has been changed(kubota) and the strainer has been cleaned! (( for an extra 15cents they should have a magnet on that drain plug!!)) Thank you all for the good info we get.

Is your plastic hyd cooling fan under the tractor intact? I hope you didn't break it. Something doesn't sound normal there. I have the same tractor with the same hours and mine doesn't do that.

Sounds like the servicing dealer used UDT (or equivilent other manuf.) instead of SUDT in the HST oil change. Call the servicing dealer back and see if this is the case.

UDT (or equivilent) can be used in the BX's but theres been way too many posts here of folks trying to save a few $$$'s by going w/UDT (or equivilent) only to find either the performance and/or HST whine or both to be worse than before the change, change back to SUDT and the problems go away.

Other things to make sure the dealer did was to have cleaned out the sump filter screen and that he used an OEM Kubota HST filter.

Air in the system can cause your steering wheel trouble and your owners manual should tell you how to easily purge it. Other than that but before you get too deep into this issue, i.e. I'd recommend to change out the HST fluid & filter out with OEM Kubota filter and SUDT and if the problem(s) doesn't go away then escalate.

Good luck

thank you for the ansers, the oil filter is oem, the sump screen was cleaned and the oil used was super udt from kubota. I talked about the power stearing because it uses the same pump as the hst. I just realised that I posted my thread in the wrong page, should of been in owning and operating.

have a real good look around the machine for a damp hose/pipe etc. especially on the suction side of the pump (yeah sorry it means i want you to get underneath it with a torch). this really sounds like the pump is sucking air or its the wrong oil. even udt (thats all we get in oz due to its better heat handling than sudt) should not make this amount of noise.
