BX25-D Fuel Filter Conversion

I would like to do your fuel filter conversion, but Kubota wants $79 US for the Grand L filter. Off the page for my fixed income budget. Any ideas where I could get one, or one similar to it, for under $25 US ?? Please let me know when you can. Time is not critical. (RETIRED). Thanks for great instructional video.

Paul,

I haven't done the fuel filter conversion yet. Will probably do at next service. HOWEVER, I finally did fix a problem with my MMM front attachment unhooking itself when backing up over small (1 to 2 inch) brush stubble. When deck would back into stubble it would put enough pressure forward to make the front link unhook. I took some 3/16 thick angles that came with my miter saw (Never used them) and put them on the deck to stop the upward movement of the link.

Sorry about the dirty rig, but this is a working tractor, not a show piece.

neat fix. this did happen to me once. actually ended up with the front wheels off the ground when the bracket snagged after coming loose and the rear wheels continued driving the tractor (imagine that bracket vertical holding up the front end!) amazingly, nothing got bent.

have you checked the length of that front attachment that is coming loose? you can adjust it with the nuts at the front end of it and there are specifications in the manual for how it should be set. perhaps it's too long and therefore coming loose?

That is the first thing I looked at. Everything is right where it should be, including the front to back and the side to side for even cutting. I figured that when I backed up, the stubble pushed against the deck enough to make it slide forward just enough to let it unhook. Now that it can not slide on the front mount it will not be able to unhook.

What happened to you just goes to show how tough the equipment really is. VERY well built.
