BX25 rubber floor mat mud underneath

I pulled out the eleven plastic "Christmas tree" ribbed shank fasteners that hold down the rubber floor mat and pulled up the mat. After four years, a layer of mud and water was under there but it washed up OK, no rust spots that I can see.

The ribbed shank fasteners are tough to get out, and are pretty much once and done. I might try something like the arrow shank or keyhole shank fasteners that are easier to pull out or maybe black nylon nuts and bolts as you can reach underneath to almost all of the hole locations. I took my clips out 6 years ago and never looked back. The liner lays just fine, very easy to lift and rinse out.

I second that... did the same on my BX24.

Remove mat and paint with bedliner from Auto parts store. Comes in gallons or quarts. Even comes in a spray can but I have no experience with the spray can.

I use a pressure washe under the edge...clean as a whistle!

I pull up the corners and wash it with the hose a couple of times per season. Works fine w/o removing the mat.

Our mat ended up falling off and getting replaced under warranty.

Mines pretty packed with mud underneath.

Ive thought about pulling the trim clips out and just letting it lay there, but I think it would scoot around? Removal and painting with bed liner seems like a good solution. Its not a great design from the factory as the mat really collects the mud.

knowing me - it would scoot around or fall on ground each time I mount/dismount the way I do..:laughing:
