I have the 48 inch mmm. Tires clear it, but barely rub the bolts on woods backhoe subframe.

First thing I did on my BX18xx back 6 years ago. I enjoyed the mod. The fellow I sold that BX to a guy who wanted to add a 54" deck, so he bought a set of smaller original turfs off whole goods at Kubota for around $380 and used the smaller tires/wheels during mowing season and the larger tires/wheel set during fall firewood and winter snow fighting seasons.

I am missing something, so please give more details.

I though the BX tractors all used the same tire size. Does the BX25 use a larger tire size?

On my BX2200 I replaced the turf tires with bar tires, which are now foam filled and add great stability. But I don't think, but never checked, that the diameter is any different between the two tire styles.

So I guess I am asking, did you gain both a different tread design as well as a different tire diameter, when you switched tires? Or?

Thanks....Bill

Bx18xx uses 24x12x12 rear, 16x7.50 front.
BX23xx, 26xx and 25 use 26x12x12 rear and 18x8.5 front.

The R4 style tire isn't available in the smaller size, only the R1 and R3.

Learn something new every day!

I had read that the BX18xx and BX2xxx tractors had the same frame size and drive line, excepting engine HP, and it never occurred to me that Kubota would put a different tire size on a tractor of the same physical size...

The 1860 has a shorter wheelbase, I think that's why they put the little tires on it.

Amazing! Who can keep track of all the models and changes? Not me!

I see the BX1830 still had the 55.1" wheelbase, then with the BX1850 the wheelbase was shortened to 52.8".

Perhaps there were other changes introduced as well? Wonder what the motivation was...would never have expected this change.

Huh, I didn't know that. I thought all the bx18xx were the same. Now I learned too!

Interesting. I've got the 48" deck as well, so might like to upgrade to bigger shoes, though will probably wait until my current tires wear out. Are the rims the same on all the BX's, and only the tires different? Or different rims, too?
