2020 Kubota MX5400 HST, ROPS, 2020 Kubota RTV 900, 2020 Kubota RTV 500(wifeç—´ ride),
Has Kubota BT601 backhoe, says quick attach model, have several posts on other BX models where satisfaction with backhoe and mid mount 60 inch mower are biggest frustration for mounting/connections. Messicks has brief video and mentions both implements in top5 worst implements for owner satisfaction. This tractor has 115 hours and comes with loader, flail mower, rotary cutter, backhoe, auger and unknown rake and plow. A little bit curious on the very low hours that unit sat unused for lengthy periods. One owner and photos show everything looking like near new condition.

Your thoughts and feedback.

Your MX is 3,700 pounds bare tractor weight.

BX is <1,600 pounds bare tractor weight.

Tractor capability is related more to tractor weight than anything else.

Mounting/dismounting Mid-Mount-Mowers frustrates many. Not much room below the tractor and everything gets dirty. A mid-PTO is often more difficult to connect than is TPH PTO.

I SPECULATE 50% of BX tractors never have the installed MMM removed.
I further SPECULATE 80% of BX TLBs never have the installed Backhoe removed.

The average tractor used in residential situation runs 60 engine hours per year.

How knowledgeable was the buyer if he bought MMM, flail mower and Rotary Cutter together?

I agree on mower selections, and I don’t need any of those, just interested in a bx for wife to use for gardening related work and feeding horse and maintains her horse barn, kind of a utility tractor she can manage and operate. I wonder how handy the little backhoe would be, always wanted one. Love my new Mx5400, only need a disc harrow and cultipacker to finish out the implements for now.

A wonderful idea. You will have to remove the Backhoe and mount TPH counterbalance in order to make the BX T-L-B a reasonable proposition in the barn.

You won't be cutting into Texas summer adobe soil with a BX Backhoe.

If you have the Backhoe OFF for your wife's convenience, you will have to put it ON when you want to use it. How often will that be? If you mount/dismount Backhoe regularly it is easy. If you mount/dismount infrequently it takes longer and requires more sweat.

While Backhoes are used for many things, trenching is their primary intent. How much trenching do you foresee that you could not do with the MX with a Middlebuster mounted on the Three Point Hitch, probably faster?

BX can do one function at a time. Curl OR raise. Not curl AND raise like your MX bucket.

Love my new Mx5400, only need a disc harrow and cultipacker to finish out the implements for now.

Find a Box Frame, Tandem Disc Harrow with 20" or 22" diameter pans, 72" wide.

I love my BX. MMM really isn’t that hard to equip/remove once you’ve done it a couple times. I put mine on the spring and take it off in the fall. There’s usually a little grunting getting it on, but I only do it once a year.

I would never ever give up my BH. It’s a little beast and much more capable then people who have only used TPH BHs give it credit for. A BH dolly like the one from Welcome to BXpanded - Engineered and Built in the USA makes putting it on so much easier. I went 3 years without one and it should have been the first accessory I bought (or made). The problem with not having a dolly is that the BH sags when off the tractor, making it a chore to line everything back up again. The dolly eliminates that problem. The BH also serves as a great counterweight.
