Hi all....I am trying to get an idea on a good price to ask for a BX25 w/LA240 loader, 54" belly mower, and backhoe- everything is kubota. Tractor has about 40 hours on it. Purchased 6 months ago new. Thanks.
Tough time for selling. I purchased a BX23 with 100 hours for $10,500 six months ago. I had been watching ebay and craigslist for about a year and I thought I got a good deal. It does not have the belly mower. Not many Kubota backhoes selling on ebay. My guess is that you should be able to get $15,000 if you have to sell it.

Unfortunately you are competing with dealers who can offer 0% financing for a new unit with full warranty. You need to make your selling price enticing to attract a buyer.
While it's true that the dealers have an advantage, many people won't take loans. If they have cash the dealers are discounting $700 (kubota). Not much of a discount. I don't see many BX25s at the dealer (there are 2).
So although the market of buyers is smaller there still are a few.
There is no doubt that you are going to take a big hit or sit on it for sometime until it sells.
Like others have said you can get a new unit with warranty and suport for 16,500 less the mower, all with zero financing. Is it worth 15000.00 sure will it sell for that maybe but it will probably take some time.
In this economy most people looking at used tractors and have cassh are looking to steal it out from under you. They bank on the fact that you may need the money due to job loss or something like that. So if its listed for sale dont be angry if buyers really lowball you on the price.
If you can hang on it it and hopefully the market will turn around and you can easily get what its worth. Even if you waited until winter when it starts snowing if its a real bad snow season it may sell quick to someone tired of shoveling
