I'm in the market for a new tractor. I currently have a 10 year old deere 4100 gear w/fel.
I'm on 5 acres of flat wavy land with a few oaks out back. We have horses, so I'm moving manure and mowing. All the land clearing is done and Ive bush hogged the land into submission. We use round bales of hay and get them delivered 12 at a time. I need to move them from the road to the barn. I currently use a hay fork on my 3 pt hitch. they weigh about 700#'s. I like the idea of a hoe, though to be truthful it wouldn't get used that much. It just seems that when you need one its too late to get a rental or hire someone. I'll be pulling stumps, digging turtle holes and a horse grave or two in the near future.
Ive seen the bx25 but couldn't get to try one out yet. Its a lot smaller than my deere. I guess I'm worried about the lower lift capacity on the bucket and the hassle of removing the backhoe. I will get it with the mmm.
any thoughts? has anyone regretted stepping down in tractor size?
