Mowing BX25D and a 5' rotary cutter?

The post by LD1 is a good description. When I want to turn, or stop, the cutter doesn't seem to affect the actions of the tractor. It doesn't push the tractor when stopping, or make it go at more of an angle when turning.

Alot of it depends on the cutter though. Not all 5' cutters are created equal.

You can get a 5' cutter that weighs under 500 pounds.

Or

You can get a 5' cutter that weighs OVER 1200 pounds.

And anything in between.

Another consideration is that as the deck gets larger, it's center of gravity moves farther aft from the 3pt hitch pivots, creating a longer lever. Even a 5' cutter that weighs the same as a 4' cutter will lighten the front end more. Are you planning on keeping the FEL on while working the fence line? If not, then you'll probably need some additional weights, up front.

Loader will definitely stay on when running the cutter. I want to keep the bucket near the ground to find things before they find my tractor. I just added a BXepanded toothbar last night so that's another 40# on the front of the loader.
