BX 2200
I'm trying to decide between the BX2660 and the BX2360.

I read where someone had trouble with the air filter clamp....like with our current BX2200

I also read where someone had a hydrolic leak.

Are these isolated problems? Will the 2360 be more reliable?

Can people who have the BX2660 chime in to ease my mind on this model..

The only reason I consider the BX2660 is because we move a lot of snow and our blower is a heavy 54" econnor that can bog down our BX2200 when the snow is really heavy and wet. I figured the extra HP would be helpful.

Don't let that one bracket be a big deal. They are both good tractors. I don't know but maybe the other tractor uses the same bracket.

The BX2660 that I have has been a very good tractor with the exception of that bracket. I have been able to use and notice and appreciate the additional power available on the BX2660, as my previous tractor was a BX2230.

I love my BX2660, bought in September and almost at 40 hours. No problems so far.

I've learned a lot from TBN and also in my 40 hours on my first tractor. I must always attach the rear blade when using the FEL, for counter weight. The dent in the truck side is proof.

I probably should have bought the turf tires instead of the bar tires. And I probably should have gotten them filled.

The seat cutoff is sensitive, if I lean too far to the side it activates.

The MMM detach and attach is difficult, but getting easier each time.

I've been checking and re-checking and I have found nothing but Great reveiws for the BX2660 and that is what me and my wife are set on getting. If it was anything even remotely negative it would be that it has too much power for it's size. "it doesn't realize it's a small Tractor".

I love my BX2660. No problems other than leaking front tires (tubes fixed that). I have turfs with the rears filled. The only reason I would say to wait a week or two before you load the rear tires is so that you will really appreciate it when you do.

LOTS of power, probably more than it should have for the chassis size. I rotary cut and plow snow as well as FEL work. I just got my box scraper and I have 3PT splitter on the way. Next on the wish list is a BXM32 chipper shredder.

The beauty of the 2660 is that you'll always have enough power to run any reasonabley sized implement, but its still small enough to be light on the lawn and get into tight spots and between the trees.

The only limitation I've found is with the lift capacity of the FEL. I realize it couldn't really be any more and still be safe. It just means taking a little longer with some jobs, or finding different ways to do it.

I have AGs and they're not filled .
If i was to change to filled turfs I'd just be scrweing the tractor up.

Point is moot. What does this have to do with a newer BX2660? Help the man out with useful information.............

Thanks for the info guys...

We are trading our 2001 BX2200 which has FEL, 60" mower etc for a Bx2360 or 2660 with FEL 60" mower etc.

I'm in Canada so prices are higher...esp since the Canadian $$$ took a bit drop last fall. They do have a 2360 and 2660 they got in prior to a recent Kubota Canada price hike.

A 2360 after all is considered is going to cost around $5800 in the difference while a 2660 is $7000 more.

I'm leaning toward the 2360 since I don't think the $1200 more is going to make that much difference for us....we still gain 1hp with the 2360 over the 2200.

My concern was for the big 4 blade blower we have which can bog down the 2200 when the snow is really wet and heavy. However, the 2660 only gives 1.8hp more for the PTO than the 2360.

Also, the 2200 was great except for the annoying air filter clamp breakage and that same design in the 2660 has me wondering.

Am I correct in thinking that the 2360 and it's engine has a little more of a proven track record over the 2660 which uses a new engine?

Also, I'm glad that the 60 series BX models have gone back to using more metal for fenders, engine cover etc. I notice the mower deck has some plastic pieces on the chute cover and the belt covers....any problem with those?

1*That is an easy fix with several ways to go about doing so.
It's nickel and dime stuff that's 2 small to sweat in my book.
You could put a hose clamp or 2 around it when you first get the tractor then it won't really matter it the bracket breaks or not.
I repaired my bracket about 3 years ago /no problems with it since.
I may add a hose clamp or 2 to it .
I didn't do that back then because I just now thought of the idea.
2*Naturally the motor that's been on the market the longest would have the longer track record.
3*Hain't heard of any.

3*Point is moot.
1*Wasn't comparing tractors just tire set ups.
2*I did.
3*No it's not.

I figured the extra HP would be helpful.

I have held that same opinion regarding the extra hp. Quite a number of members have pointed out, however, that tweaking piston rod length and increasing RPM, can increase hp, but at the expense of torque. Kubota dealer Neil Messick has said this many times, and a number of members with the math background have posted the calculations to show that minor engine changes to boost peak hp may not increase true energy output at all.
