BX42 coming - cut pto shaft?

My BX42 is going to be delivered tomorrow. Havng nothing else to think about I was wondering if anyone else is using this with an L3400 and did you have to cut the shaft to shorten it at all?

On my B7800 I had to cut both ends of the shaft (equaly) so as to fit the distance between out put and input.
I don't know the size difference between the 7800 and L3400 but I'd think they weren't too far apart.

I would wait until you have both units there and then, measure twice and cut once. If you cut at all? Ken Sweet

Also, if you plan to add a quick hitch e.g. Pat's, the PTO shaft will need to be longer than without the hitch, so I suggest getting the quick hitch installed first before cutting shaft.

It was just delivered to my workplace, now I just have to have one of our trucks bring it home.

I was (optimistically) hoping that someone who had the L3400 would chime in and say how perfect the fit was without cutting I would be content not having to cut.
