cab building ?

Hello Rob...nice work so far on your cab. I was wondering if you could tell me how you got the nice curved edge on your door where it follows the contour of your fender? Also, could you show a close up of your door hinges and how you constructed them? Thanks.

Thanks for the nice words. I made the curved sections with a very simple home made bender. I used a pine board cut in a a curved shape and bolted to a flat surface. I then put a bolt 2" from the end and used it to hold the tubing from moving. It worked ok but was not a simple one bend deal. I had to make mutiple trips trying to get the bend just right. the real hard part was geting the door shaped close to the same. When I get a chance I will take a picture of the bender and also the door hinges.

Did you do anything with the "$7 seal" problem on the drive shaft..??

Final pic on the cab is still a ways out. I have not done a darn thing on it in so long. I bought a sand blaster to clean the rust off of the window frames but have been to busy to do anything. I still need to put the heater in and a block heater but as you mentioned i still need to fix that darn seal and that means the cab needs to come off. I am planing on fixing the seal myself. I have been thinking I would do this some time this winter and just put the plow back on the jeep for a few weeks. Kinda silly with the great weather that we have had this winter and I still have not gotton it fixed.

I made this cab for my 2210 jd 2 years ago them when I got my 2305 I moved to that tractor radio heater wipers lights works great.

Ok I finally took the time to take pictures of my door hinges. They are nothing special. I used 3/8 dia long nut conectors and drilled them out. I then used a combination of angle iron and flat steel pieces to get them welded to the frames. I welded 3/8 solid shaft for the door pins. as you can see I need to get them sand blasted and painted. I also included a picture of the home made bender that I used. I had it bolted to my utility trailer at the time I did the bending.
On a side note we had freezing rain and then some snow the other day and I left the tractor outside durring it all. Today I needed to use it and the hood was fairly froze but the cab windows where all clean and the cab was a little warm just from the sun shine. It was great no frozen seat and all the controls where not built up with snow.

Nice looking cab! A friend of mine has a similar Kubota, built a similar cab with lexan plastic instead of glass, and uses an earth magnet to hold the door closed...works real well.

I like the hinge arrangement, is that for taking them off during the "Construction Season"......
