Cab or no cab?

/ Cab or no cab? #41
Not many hours on tractors so far, but. . . I have spent enough time on an open station bush hogging with BAD allergies to know I REALLY wanted a CAB machine, but needed the OK from the wife. Before the BIG rains we just had, I needed to get my pastures mowed. OH WOW! ! ! I was able to watch all that dust, pollen, grass, weeds, bugs, et. al. flying around and NOT on me, or in my nose. That was the main reason for getting the cab, but I know the 100 degree temps here in Texas won't bother me anymore.

Do as I did. Just buy both. I have a open station and a cab.. the cab on the CX105 is huge though. I probably spend more time on the open station than in the cab.
Climb in the cab close door, get to a gate, climb down out of cab, open gate, climb back into cab, close door pull through gate, climb down from tractor close gate, climb back into cab, close door and go..

If you don't have gates to open and close, it's probably ok. But I have to open and close gates so cattle will stay put.
I really need an auto gate opener on all gates LOL

I purchased this cab and open station tractor used, for less than I would have paid for a new cabbed tractor

Back in 2012 I built a cab for the L3200HST. It worked great in the Winter, and with the doors off and the "bus driver fan" it was better than being in the sun in Summer. My dear BIL who lives next to us mentioned to Wifey that chim was getting kind of old and it sure would be nice to keep him cooler and out of the dust and pollen in the hot Summer weather. She often commented on my hacking, coughing and nose blowing after I mowed so she got on board. After nearly a year of searching we found a very nice L4240HSTC.

Right side doors on a lot of models, are for emergency egress only. YMMV

Really? Im on like my 15th used tractor and over the past 25 years have yet to buy one that didnt come without a matching right side door. All of them were built exactly the same as the left side door.

None of the IH Magnum 71 or 72 hundred series had a right door.

Heck I had a big old 3 cyl Deere that sported a Laurin cab that only had a door on left side.
It slid on tracks like a barn door.

That big Deere had a 7ft blower and FEL, manual gear shifting and NO power steering and not 4 X 4.
LOL, did not stay around long as I wanted it mainly for snow duties and my drive is hilly.
Dang brute even chained could not make it up the hill.

LOL, but it did have a cab!

Im aware of fixed glass right doors. Ive never speced out a brand new tractor, but every tractor Ive owned with a cab had a right side door that mirrored the left side door.
