Greetings and thanks in advance for your response. Do I really need a REI CD/Radio player or should I just get a killer CD/Radio with iPod input and MP3 CD Player from best buy.

I recently ordered a 5030 HSTC with 853 loader, tooth bar, TnT, and Woods RM990.

I'm really not sure about the value of a REI radio since I can buy a couple high quality brands at a much lower price if there is a failure.

Your input is appreciated.

PS. kinda silly worring about the fricking radio...huh?...

For what it is worth, you may want to price Kubota's OEM unit - that will push you to go elsewhere for one at 1/2 the price (or less!). I was quoted around $500 for the radio/CD/weather unit installed, antenna and speakers. NO THANKS!

I was at the dealership yesterday and they told me they tried to install a radio from an electronics store once and it wouldn't fit right. They said it was a lot of work and not worth the cheaper radio. I'm not sure if they just wanted me to buy the kubota radio but thats what they said.

I ordered my L5030HSTC sans radio. I bought a really nice Kenwood CD/MP3 player and some Infinity speakers and a nice "rubber ducky" antenna for about half the price. It took me all of about 45 minutes to properly install everything, and that included the time to insulate the under side of the roof with the aluminum bubble wrap stuff which is needed (in my opinion) anyway.

The panisonic stereo is for heavy equipment, the cd does not skip at all. It reads the disk stores all the music in a small hard drive and plays in back to you. I preformed a 90 acre spray job on a national cemetery last month in my 3030 & the cd does not skip at all. It is overpriced and the kubota speakers are not great but the unit itself is high quality,it also has a built in thermostat you can wire up to monitor outside temps! Its expensive but its worth it JMHO.

No, music, radio is good fun. And we must have fun while "working".

I'm trying to install a Sony CD/MP3 in my M105. I've been waiting for the dealer to find me a cable connector for it. It doesn't seem to match anything used in autos. It's a nine-pin square connector. The dealer can't get the part - all I need is the female side of the connector so that I don't have to cut into the wires to direct connect.

There is already an antenna cable in the roof. I assume the speakers are connected through the nine-pin cable connector. If the dealer can't get this part I'm going to have to get the pin-out and cut the wires.

Did the 5030 come with a cable connector? And what is the insulation for?

I picked up an adapter at a local car audio store and all was well; no splicing. The insulation in the top of the plastic roof makes a huge difference on hot sunny days. You would want to use the bubble wrap type of stuff that is covered on either side with a sort of aluminum foil. That way it will never hold any moisture. It costs less than $5 to insulate the top of the cab and makes quite a difference. If competitive pricing is such that $5 makes a difference, I think Kubota ought to shave the $5 from somewhere else. To me, it's just plain stupid to not insulate the top of the cab. Would you consider putting A/C in a house with no insulation in the ceilings?

I went over the connector catalog at the auto stereo place and couldn't find anything even close to this connector. It's a nine pin square connector. Maybe the M series is a different connector than the L series cabs.

Where did you get the "aluminum bubble wrap" that you insulated the cab with? Looking to do the same thing to improve AC in summer heat and did not see any thing similiar at our local hardware store ...

Thx.
