I got a new digital camera for Christmas. I went to my farm after Christmas and decided to take a few pictures of the cabin I built about three years ago. The cabin is about 1000 sq. ft. I cut pine trees from the farm and had a man with a portable sawmill cut the logs into 6X7 rectangals for the walls. The project took well over a year as I did the work mostly on weekends. There were times I thought I had bitten off more that I could chew, but the finished product turned out better than I imagined. Here's the outside.

Finally a couple of storage buildings. The small shed was made out of some left over logs. The pole barn is 24 X 27 for storing the tractor and all the other "stuff", and yes I wish I had built it bigger.

Nice cabin,

Makes me think of sitting on that porch in a rocking chair without a care in the world! Good looking building. How much do you have in it?

Nice.
What did you use for grout between the logs?
How is the roof supported?
Work from professional plans or just had go at it yourself?

Guy I bought my property from swears I can build a nice little place with a couple grand in logs and use his portable sawmill.

Someday maybe.
