Looks like you are doing pole barn with an upstairs. Beds upstairs, I am guessing. Nice size.

My wife is up there taking pictures and was confused as to why they didn't run floor to the outside wall
and was worried she would have to look at bottom of the roof i explained to her ceiling will cover it.

The contractor is putting the shell up I'm doing the rest.
She said I hope it doesn't take as long as the old cabin there was stuff that was never quite finished even after 30 years
We can only get there about 1 weekend a month and if it snows you cant get there at all.

That grass must have been really dry. I've heard warning about welding outdoors when it's dry here, but never really thought about it actually happening. That had to be horrible to have seen it happen and not be able to stop it. Are you doing anything to make this house more fire proof?

The pole garage survived 3 feet of 3/4 stone around it with no grass in stone. The old cabin was on piers with foam insulation I think a spark from the grass got to foam and the rest is history. We plan on duplicating the stone buffer and not welding in the grass I had welded the whole day before the fire with out any problems.
