Has anyone built cabinets using Anthony Guidice's method?
He has a book out, "Quick And Easy Custom Cabinets", and his method seems very easy and functional. The book is well thought out and understandable.
Basically, a biscuit jointer, table saw and drill are the main tools used.
I'm getting ready to build some shop and bathroom cabinets using that method and was just wanting to learn by other's mistakes.

Can't help you there, Fivestring.

If you've got any specific questions about cabinetmaking I'll be glad to offer advise best I can.

I'm not familiar with the book, but have used biscuit joints extensively in making blanket chests and small cabinets. Biscuits are great, when a little thought goes into their use. Sometimes it will be necessary to "double" them up. I have never had any issues with their strength or longevity, and they are very easy to use.

I just ordered his book today. I need to build cabinets for my garage and workshop. Your post piqued my interest. Looking forward to receiving the book.

I like it. The setup is so easy, it should be illegal.
The man clearly states that if he had to make a living making cabinets, he could not build them the old-fashioned way. Biscuits and screws are used for the carcass and face frame.
I've never built any cabinets so I get fresh info on this method. I do know that mortise and tendon joinery and tongue and groove methods are time consuming. I also know that traditional cabinet making has to be done in stages; cut sides, re-do fence and cut tops and bottoms, re-do fence, etc. You also have to figure in the extra length for tongues. One wrong cut on any of the steps and you have a big pile of scrap wood.
I hope to get started this weekend, so if I get one done before you, I'll let you know how it works.

There's a good option available to the technique you've described, Frameless.

"Frameless" or 'Euro" or "32mm", all the same thing.

We've done frameless exclusively for about 10 years. IMHO it would be an easier product for a novice to build, less parts, joints, etc.

The Guidice method sounds like something I would like to see. Is his book available in regular bookstores or is there some other source?

I appreciate your help!

I found mine in a Woodcraft store. You should be able to find a copy in a woodworking store.
