Cadillac of tractors?

Why that looks like the new Supercharged 550HP Cadillac. I'm hearing 3.5 second-ish 0-50 times. :licking:

Yeah, but the non-supercharged version would be better. A non-supercharged car will never have a supercharger failure!

what more can u do with 4 hp i cant think of anything

but what i was trying to get at is that there is no reason for everybody to be arguing over a turbo that will only gain 4 hp is not that big of a deal if somebody likes turbo good if they dont like them thats ok to thats there personal preference

That could be another foot of mower on a small machine.

24hp I'd run a 5' mower.. 20 hp I'd run a 4' mower.. etc.

29hp I'd run a 5' mower.. 33hp I'd run a 6' mower.. etc..

If someone doubts the additional power provided by turbochargers, just go take the twin turbo chargers off of a D11 Cat dozer and try to use it. It's a worthless hunk of steel.[/QUOTE]

OK; now explain the reason in thermodynamic terms????:thumbsup:

Now I'm also in a quandary. It's stated that turbo's are the real deal but then It's also been stated that those old tractors just last longer. Them old tractors didn't have turbo's. What's up??:confused:

Should I have an old tractor or a newer turbo'd one?:D:confused:

Which old tractors you talking about? ford 7000?

Look at M&W kits. they made aftermarket turbo kits for alot of things. Ford 5000 for instance. We are talking about tractors from 65+ etc. Ford only started using diesel in 59 anyway.. so that's not a big stretch...6ys of NA engines.. then you started seeing some turbo's I can't speak for other manufacturers.. etc.

Rob, I seriously doubt you could put that much fuel through either onr of those machines.

I have a 265 MF that turns 72 hp on 1.7 gallon per hour. It is even naturally aspirated.

I agree.. my ford 5000 (70hp NA ) uses 5g in 3 hr to pull a 10' mower hogging.

Also.. the 746/1hp is a theoretical number not taking into accounts for losses. that's why you see pto generator heads specifying 'about' 2hp per KW of generation capacity.

All this debate over turbo or not, next thing we will be arguing over tires or transmissions:)

BTDT. the tranny thread comes up about once per year.. :)

I'm in!

Actually I think I'm going to argue for turbos next!

I can't help it I'm Italian. You know what Mussolini said, "It's not impossible to govern the Italians, it's useless!"

But is the engine itself designed to hand the turbo. Cooling systems, compression ratio etc?:D

Adding a turbo to a base engine not designed for one could be a recipe for failure!
