Cafe racers

I thought about buying an RZ350 when they came out. I had all the literature, Kenny Roberts posters, etc... until I had the opportunity to go up against one at the local drag strip with my 77RD400. I ate it for lunch. :licking:

In all fairness, the kid looked pretty inexperienced and it was bone stock.
Yah, stock they had catylitic converter heavy exhaust pipes and this hampered the acceleration and choked down the engine. A set of Toomey expansion chambers and carb rejet kit really kicked it in the @$$.:D

So, what year is your CB 750? Always liked the CB series. Started out with a 72 CB 450 that was later put on steroids. Loved it, could wipe the pavement against most other bikes, just not in the corners though. Sad ending, parked in the wrong stop and it ended up under a car. Many in between but the last was a 81 GW with the Vetter set up, not the HL. After not using it much for 15 years finally sold it off. That bike was a 9 out of a ten! Miss it sometimes :) It's an old man bike but you could still pull the front up and 0-60 was respectable but after that most can pull away pretty quickly.

I still like my early 70s bikes with no add-ons.... just plain, bullet-proof transportation. Never had the desire to build a cafe racer.

But I do remember well my first "real" rides, a pair of 1966 Suzuki X-6 Hustlers. Those things were scary quick for only 250 ccs!

Both bikes were owned by someone else who preferred cars, so we'd swap-- I'd loan them my 4 wheels in exchange for their X-6s. One here while I was a student at UNH, the other in CA while I was at the DLI in Monterey. Lottsa fun, lottsa miles on those 2-strokers.

It is 1970, K0 I believe. I am only glad it is younger than me:)

I had CBX in Prague, before we move to States.

!970 was a good looking year for that bike. Spokes were king :), the newer mags never did it for me.
But younger than you? In motorcycle years that thing is an antique now.
What's that make you?

Anyway, here is the picture, yes, the color scheme is hideous, but that will get changed eventually.

Makes me older :)
The color has to go. Should be a fun project though. All of those frames need to be black but I can't remember the tank color right now. Rear wheel change would be nice but that may be a hard to find part. A place around here called "bent bike" used to carry some old parts ...
