I'm getting very serious about making a trip to the VA. facility and buying either a 425 or 1430 but was wondering if I'm near any local owners?

I think there are two California owners who read these posts so perhaps you will hear from them.
As for me, I too am close to a trip to VA. We are looking at two possible dates in January. We live on the Central Coast with 3 acres needing a lot of care. Just purchased as our retirement home. What are your needs and considerations in looking at a 425 or 1430? I am leaning toward the 1430 simply for the diesel but will make the decision after seeing both of the machines.

One definition is in order here: please define "near" as Northern California is bigger that many states.
You might mention where you are and how far you'd be willing to travel too.

Looks like you guys are neighbors.. I'm in San Jose probably too far to drive, but if your in the neighborhood I have a 422 you can help me do the 50hr maintenance on. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Hey, egb, you are only 3 hours away. Bring your PT up here and I'll help you do the work!! I'll even supply the hydraulic filter for you (I have an extra).
hogi and I have used PM and we are thinking later in Jan will be a good time for a PT testdrive.
We have needed rain for so long that I can't complain about our current weather.... but dang I'd rather be playing XXXXXX oops, WORKING with my PT today.

California owners - there may soon be one more. I am headed to Tazewell on January 24 and hope to return with one on order. I started a thread "trip to Tazewell" looking for suggestions on what to be looking for on the trip.
