ISSUE: Once again, the Federal government is muscling its
way in to take over more of our private property -- this
time, in California.
This week, 25 Congressmen sent a letter to Gail Norton,
Secretary of the Department of Interior, in support of
private property rights and against a federal government
takeover of 215,000 acres in Santa Barbara County, CA.
The letter was written in response to a study that could
lead to California's Gaviota Coast, including 91,190 acres
of private property and a large portion of Vandenberg Air
Force Base, being designated National Park Service land.
the Park Service is critical -- this is not the time to
add more parkland to the system, especially land on a
vital military base and productive agricultural and ranch
properties."
ACTION ITEM: You can help threatened property owners if
you act by September 1. You can send FREE a personalized
e-mail directly to Sec. Norton, and join your voice with
those Congressmen in support of "Alternative One," which
means "keep out the land-grabbing National Park Service" --

As noted by the Land Rights Network (www.landrights.org),
your letter to Sec. Norton will benefit everyone across the
country: If the Park Service is sent packing in Santa
Barbara, then that is ANOTHER victory for property rights,
and will give us momentum in other battles, from the
Everglades in South Florida to parks in Alaska. Support
threatened landowners NOW.
