I Czech republic (the country I am originally from) even the establishment that got you drunk might be charged. If convicted it will lose the license. When my daughter got married they served only one beer/person until all the cars were moved away not from the parking lot but from the village. The owner of the place called bunch of young local guys to follow you home or to the hotel etc and brought you back. When all cars were gone unlimited amount of alcohol was served. When you wanted to leave the owner would wake one of those local guys up to take you where you wanted to go. Obviously you paid them hard cash.About a year ago, there was a story about a man in one of the mid eastern states (Va., N. C., S.C., etc., I don't remember which one) that was being tried for homicide because he picked up, from the lockup, a friend who had been arrested for DWI and drove him back to his car. The friend drove off and killed another driver. He died also. I never heard the outcome of the trial. If anyone remembers the case, I would like to know what happened.
