Well I have been posting for quite a while now and I think it is about time I get myself a camera or at least a scanner so I can put some pictures of my Bota. I know there has been posts about this before but I didnt feel like digging it up... So what do all you picture posters have and what is the relative price range for a camera or scanner. IM looking in the range of $50-200. Thanks for the info and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Another low-cost way to go is to have whoever develops your film give you "pictures on disk" or "pictures on the web".

They scan your pictures in when they make your prints and put them on a disk or in a storage area on the internet for you.

Bill, what is the cost to put pictures on discs? Im just thinking if it is reasonable enough I will do that but after doing it a few times, wont all that money amount to the price of a camera?

I think I paid 8 or 10 bucks for this service. It's amazing how much better a picture you get compared the prints of the same film. Unless you go to special developing, prints just aren't that great of quality.

Ritz Camera charges $4.99 to put a roll of film on a Floppy Disk or $8.99 for a "Hi-Res CD" or $5.99 to have your roll of film stored on the internet for one year (the internet storage is available for 30 days free with the Floppy or CD choices). These services are available with their 1 hour processing.

My local CVS Drugstore can do the same, as can probably almost any photo processing place these days. I don't know their prices but I'd imagine its comparable to the Ritz Camera prices.

Wondering if anyone has experience with digitial camcorders with photo capability. My analog is acting up and thought might go for a new one--especially like the convert old tapes to digital feature. Just concerned the digital photo feature may have some trade-offs.....is the photo mode comparable to a decent middle of the road digital camera??

Any brand/model recommendations (camera or camcorder) appreciated.

I'm pretty sure this subject was also brought up in the off-topic forum... I think JimBinMI posted it. Do a search for "Jim camera" and you should get the thread...

It is better to buy a scanner so you can make your photograph digital. It will help to make old photos digital and you can make your memory safe. Thanks
