Camper on farm -- hide it or hide it in plain site

There are trailer locks that immobilize a wheel or block the hitch so a ball can't be inserted.

+1. That's the way that I would go... some sort of wheel clamp as a deterrent.

I hadn't heard of a hitch lock before, but that sounds good too and would be available either on-line or from a local RV shop.

I see lots of boat trailers with the hitch lock

Thieves could bring lug nuts or wheels or a complete axle assembly too. Or they could back a flatbed wrecker up, pull the trailer on it and drive away. Nothing is secure against a thief with infinite resources, not even any weaponry that you might have (they could have more and more armed people too).

The idea is to make a large percentage go elsewhere without requiring a lot of resources and effort on your part.

True. I have a hitch lock but that's my concern. If they have unlimited time to work on it, no lock will deter them. But I guess there is always some risk in owning stuff -- country or city.
