A Craigslist ad costs you $ 0.00/month
My bushhog doesn't eat.
Up on blocks, out of the weather, it'll be as good come spring as it might be tomorrow.
Ever hear the expression "That's why they call it fishing - and not catching?"
Pressure wash it, oil an grease it.
Patience is your girl.
As to the $1,600 vs $1,000: It's $500/ ($1600 * 1.07) = So 29% off 'List' is what you're currently Asking - a pretty steep discount if your piece is in Very Good Condition (and looks so in your pictures).
I had a water heater on C.L for quite some time with nothing happening. Then a guy drove quite a ways to collect it and gave us a $20 tip he was so grateful - his water heater had blown the night before.
So, it might take 'till Spring. Or, if you're in a decent tax bracket - donate it to Habitat and let them sell it for you.
One other thing I've noticed - Facebook Marketplace seems to be surpassing C.L. in my neck of the wood.
Wood working tools come and go quickly. I will not give FB my information so I can only look see - can't contact anyone. The tools do appear to sell.
Then again, the only reason I ever notice them is when a member of the woodworkers group I follow posts an ad in our "Found/Hot Deals" forum list. He must be on their notification list or something.
On CL, you can save a search and CL will notify you every time a 'new' ad meeting your search criteria appears.
So, if you run a search for what you're selling, the results in your mailbox will give you clues about the market for such an item.
You van post in other 'markets' as well. A few years back I sold a component from a satellite dish thing to a someone in California - my ad was posted hear on the East coast!
