Can a 2210 pull a 5\' bush hog (or LX5)??

My dealer said the 2210 wasn't designed for the LX5 and could only pull the LX4. Is this correct? I would much rather buy the LX5.

The 2210 will turn the 5' cutter, but you will be dissapointed and your 2210 will start blubbering if you got into real brush or anything heavy. It will run a 5' finish mower in grass just fine, though.

I would be more worried about stability then horsepower. You'll need the FEL or a lot of weights to offset the LX5. I have a 403 (4-footer) and it is a good match, although there are times when a 5-footer would be a better choice.

I have a 413, which is essentially the LX4 and that's all you want on the 2210.

I know a guy who runs a 5' brush hog on a 16 hp Kubota diesel. He said he had to put fluid in his front tires because he doesn't have an FEL.

The 2210 certainly has the power for it, but it's the same weight as the 4010/4110. Adding another approx. 80 pounds out the back side could cause some problems on hills. If you use it on mainly flat land, you should have no problem.

Gravelys with 12 hp can run up to a 50" finish mower off the PTO. My 12 hp Gravely runs a 30" brush hog with no strain whatsoever. That would factor up to 60" for the hp in the 2210.

I would not recommend one any larger thatn eh LX4. In tall grass I have to go really slow sometimes with my 2210 and LX4. The LX5 is way too big.

Also, pull your mid mount deck off when you are doing work with the LX4. The 2210 can have a hard time pullign all that around sometimes. Also, plan on leaving it in 4wd.

svierge,
According to Deere, you've only got 17.7hp. I would think that with the LX4, in some conditions, that it would have its hands full. In fact, from the 2210 page it recommends the LX4.
