Have you considered renting or borrowing a trailer that won't require you to dismantle the tractor? What happens if you drive 5 hours to get the tractor and then find you can't take it off for what ever reason?

Robert, please don't try to be the voice of reason. :) Actually, that's plan B. If folks are saying this is just too labor intensive, then I can rent the trailer. If it were a quick job, then that would save me a huge hassle getting the trailer since the rental place opens after I have to be at work and closes way before I get home. And they're closed on sunday, so even getting it on Saturday means I'd have to bring it back Monday. But then I'll be very late for work. See, complicated either way.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Yeah, going with the open trailer, reserved it this afternoon. Thanks, all!

I actually have another question about what appears to be the tractor's non-Kubota looking backhoe going in this thread: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/.../231862-b21-backhoe-question.html#post2677386

Any help is appreciated.

That is a good choice, you remove any possible problems for when you get there. Just make sure you stop shortly after you load up and check all your chains or straps to make sure they are tight.

I am curious though and this is a question someone that owns one of these tractors should be able to answer. I don't know what type of open trailer you rented but if its a standard utility hauler it may sit up a little high and with the angle of the ramps your backhoe may hang up causing you problems loading. We couldn't load our old Ford 4500 TLB because the backhoe bottomed out on the ground. So maybe the B21 sits up higher or you have a lower trailer and it won't be a problem but if someone else understands what I am saying hopefully they can help you out. Worst case is you may need to brind some heavy planking and blocks to change the angle of the ramps to assist with loading/unloading.
