Can a PD15 or PDH35 be use on a BX23?

Milkman, what model PHD do you have on your BX? My local dealer stocks the Worksaver models but the cost is near $650 with the auger. The Leinbach PHDs on ebay are around $450 with auger, plus shipping. I'm not sure how much shipping is, but on of the auctions is below. I'm thinking if shipping is cheap enough then the Leinbach is a good deal, but otherwise, I'd end up buying one locally.

I've got about 600 ft of fence to do this summer.

The Woods PHD25 has an optional 12" extension if I recall correctly from their sales brochure.

I have the model 500, auger is 47" long. I measured the distance between the pins and it is 32" so just turn the pins inward if you don't have the Pats Easy Change. Use it with the boom in the hole shown.

So Milkman ... you have no problems using the WS 500?

Since the modle 300 does not or can not used the HD bits, the 500 would be the way I have to go.

They don't call New Hampshire the "Granite State" for nothing. You can't stick a shovel in the ground without hitting a nugget the size of a softball ... and that the small ones!

Drilling holes around here you almost need a 3-head diamond impregnated carbide bit.

I have the one from Northern. It's made by Greene. I have the 6" and 14" augers in 42" length. I use it on my BX2200. There is 6" clearance when it's on. You have to put on the U-bar by itself first; the lift arms must be at mid-height for their maximum spread width to get it on. Then lift the rest of the way and put the rest of the gear on. It works well in normal soils and will dig to the full 42". In clay, it must have perfect moisture content. Too dry: won't dig. Too wet: you're just stirring a milkshake. Won't dig in hardpan, either. For that you need the Land Pride unit with carbide fishtail auger tip and hydraulic rear downpressure kit which is $1900 including rear hydraulic modifications all installed.
