Can a tubeless tire be made "tubed?"

Most of my tubeless tires have tubes except the modern stuff.

Consider foam filling if flats are a problem or even Slime/Multiseal.

I have a friend that runs 16" radial tubeless on his stock Ford 1936 rims... tire shop said he couldn't do it.

Wheels were sandblasted and painted with Imeron paint... been almost 20 years and no issue... handling improved dramatically too!

Update: OK, I got the tire off and put the tube in....I got the first rim edge back on the tire, but cant get the rim completely through the tire. Is there a secret trick to doing that?

Tire irons, tire lube and muscle.... or take it to a tire shop. It's usually only $10.00.

Step on the tire opposite side you are prying on . This gives clearance around the bead . Last 4" will be tough .

The rubber edge of the tire should extend to the center of the rim. The center is more depressed than the edge. That makes the distance to where the tire iron is initially used less and the tire iron is more effective. Confused?...so am I after re-reading my description. Maybe there is something on YouTube to show it.

Anyway, the best bet is to take it to a tire shop. They have all the right equipment and knowledge. Problem is, it will cost the same amount as it would have if they had done the entire job.

Also, when tubing a tire I only take off one bead rather than remove the entire tire from the rim.

Just make sure the valve stem hole is smooth without jagged or sharp edges; and that the valve stem of the tube seats right in the hole (all the way in, without having any tube itself showing.)

I do it all the time with my smaller guide tires on my mowers. never had the need to do this on larger tractor tires - other than "guide" tires which seems to come off the rim from time to time. each time one comes off the rim, I have a tube put in and problem solved
