Can anybody identify this Ford tractor?

Your welcome. I always liked the turbine tractors and ran across the typhoon one day . I still wasn't shure it was the same tractor but i guess it was.

That brings back memories. I actually saw that thing in the mid-60's when it was pulled out of storage.

Anybody ever hear it run? With a turbine engine, that thing must have whined like an HST on steriods.

Was the tractor running in the 60s ? Do you know if really was put in the scrap metal pile like the artical said? I think older technology like in this tractor really speaks for itself on how good the engineers were at Ford in the 50s.

Can't help with hearing Typhoon I runing but you can hear Typhoon II starting and stopping on Marv Bauman's web site (he's they guy who built it).

from what i have read it is a 1957 experimental ford tractor called the typhoon with a sos witch i believe didnt show up in 801 and 601 tractors until 1959 correct me if im wrong

correct.. 59 saw the SOS tranny and diesel red tiger for fords..
