Work-related question here...
Here is a Yamaha snowmobile hit by a car. We believe it is a 1992 model but no other identifying info could be found. Anyone know the model, engine size, and where I can find a value?

FWIW, that looks like a post hit. It's too small to be a tree.
Kelly Blue book puts dealer asking price on a 1993 340CS Ovation, fully reconditioned and in excellent shape as $695
So that would be the starting point for negotiation and the sled you picture requires some major repairs to fit the description. Unless you have a use for it as is, the value is in selling the engine and possibly the track if it is in decent shape.
A quick google comes up with an add where a fellow is asking $300 for a 340 Yamaha engine.
I have pair of 340s (Polaris). They are considered tiny by the snowmobile community who trail ride extensively. Being small, they are great for utility use and ice fishing. Maybe try to sell parts in cottage country.

Thanks all! I saw the Kelly Blue Book too. Condition matters more than year at this point (like a tractor!). FWIW, it was parked along the road and hit by a drunk driver. I'm an adjuster so I need to come up with an actual cash value before it was hit. The guy was asking $600 but it had been for sale for 1 1/2 years and he obviously wasn't getting his price. Probably worth a few hundred bucks. I gave him a call and it is a twin cylinder, so I guess that makes it a 340cc.

I have an ovation, I was thinking of refreshing it, but a new after market track is $480. I put ski skins, carbide wear bars, battery, belt and new plugs. Total cost around $200. After not being run last season, it started right up, but wouldn't idle.
I brought it in and had the carb totally cleaned (another $90). It's real easy to put more money in than its worth.

If you look on the frame the 1st 3 # or letters gives model and year. The 1st 3 # or letters on yamaha is the starting year and the parts run the same way. Say a 340 cyls part # starts with 841 and that was in 1980 and you have a 1990 engine and cyls starts with 841. it was 1st used on the 1980 engine all the way up to 1990 engine.
Also the next 5 #s is the part #. If a cyl part # is say 841-xxxxx-01 all cyl heads well be 000-xxxxx-01. The 01 is for updates.
