We have had a ton of them this year in MI, my wife has a large butterfly garden about 10 ft from the pool and I like to watch them while floating and having a "cool" one in the evening quite interesting creatures!

I also call them Hummingbird moths, they frequent our flowers and are neat to watch. I'm not sure how they are associated with Tomato Hornworms.

The Hummingbird Moth is the 'adult' stage of the Tomato Hornworm, and the 'egg layer'.
