I think my next one will be similar to a baseball throwing machine. Two tires counter rotating would be an easy build, faster super easy to feed and hands free with a proximity sensor.

I seen one like that too. It does look easy and pretty quick to use. I may have to see what I can come up with:thumbsup:

No. But next time I'm up their I take some If I remember

Wow, it that impressive or what. Congrats in a big way.
That is a page out of my book of life.

Yea, this is the kind of stuff I like doing:laughing: Just getting an Idea in your head and going to town :D So far, this is the 5th one I built.

The first two were a 2" cylinder with only enough stroke to crush a 12oz can. They were VERY fast. At my 130PSI they generate ~400lb force. And crush the can down to about 3/4"-1". (about what you get by stomping on them.

I made one for dad out of a 3" cylinder. It will do 24oz cans also. Used a solenoid DCV so it is just a little momentary contact push button to operate. Thats about 900lbs of force and crushes them to little under 1/2"

I also had a 4" cylinder one but gave that to a buddy. Too much air for my little compressor to keep up. And it was slower. He has a 175PSI 120gallon 2-stage. That makes that one about 2200lbs of force. 1/4" thick is what it would do.

This one I just made is a 2.5" cylinder. Crushes to maybe a little more than 1/2". about 640lb of force. But I really wanted one to do 24oz-ers and wanted a "purdy" all aluminum one:D

Cool set up. I just stomp them and throw them in the bin, but I really like that crushed. Looks like much more fun. Here in NC a pound is getting .45 cents per pound. Just took in 25 lbs for a whopping 11.25. But hey, its no work to it and I turn it around to by silver. Metal for metal.

How about a this rotary crusher instead of a reciprocating crusher? Much easier to feed.

But, it is two-tired to work.
