56 lpm - approx. 14 gpm will provide proper speed (rotation) of flail head blades. Pressure of the system will determine Power....Hydraulic HP.

There is a lighter 30 inch head....that will cut grass only it requires 10 gpm

Note these heads do require case drain hoses...

EV, are you a manufacturer, and if so do you have a website? Cheers

What confused me is why put a "flail" mower on a backhoe boom. Now I see what you're talking about.

Not any more...At one time I did own a company that sold and service speciality mowers through out North America. I sold the company.

One could run the hyd motor on the mower with a pto mounted pump. This way the mower on/off would be the PTO lever. Mounting the mower to the end of the backhoe would involve routing the hoses too. The tough part would be locating and dealing with the a tank that is required to control fluid temperature.

Does a TLB have a PTO shaft? I can not remember seeing one on the few TLB I had experience with. Guess if you have a FEL on it my suggestion would be difficult but you could mount a tank between the wheels on the side of the tractor. The heat was a major concern of a JD commercial sales man and would require installation of oil coolers and such. Of course the temp you will be running it in affects this. My heavy use would be our cold weathers as that is when crops are out of fields so that does not worry me (could be pr oven wrong). kt

Most TLB's do have PTO,s ....Hoe can be removed and allow for 3 point to be attached. Size tank is determined by gpm motor used on mower head...When using proper size resevoir there are no overheating probems that I have ever encountered.....however some folks will add oil cooler...radiator with fan that engages when temp reaches specific temp.

EV, did you get my private message reply? It shows you did not if I understand the system. kt

How large a backhoe are you wanting to put a flail mower on?
My Ford 7710 uses a pto pump to supply the fluid, which is stored in a tank which acts as the pivot point for the boom arm. I don't know what the output is, but it will take trees and make chips out of them in a hurry!
