Can I modify flail mower?

This seems an ok price for my budget (alimony etc etc) but I kept the farm...Anyways Ember days are coming and Im looking at buying this unknown flail.
Can I put steel blades/hammers on this? As it sits it has rubber fingers to top potatoes.

Bet you would have more into it by the time you were done than if you bought a new one. That would probably nickel and dime you to death.

Nope, this is a flail topper, flail defoliator it is ment for topping/shredding
off the leaves of mature sugar beets, peanuts and potato's prior to harvest.

Have any of the New Brunswick sasquatches been seen lately?
