can I post somethign for sale here of must I post it in the "Private Party Ad" forum?

Very little activity there is the reason I ask.

And that should read
"can I post somethign for sale here OR must I post it in the "Private Party Ad" forum?

Typo on "or"

I never look at the site above ^^ Try this one vvv OR just post it here and someone will move it to the correct location ;)

You can't post to that one anymore, hence the reason I posted the link that I did. It talks about the For Sale section changes and has a link to the new For Sale area.

Ok I read and read and I think I will just forgo trying to post a for sale ad. Maybe I need to read more but I think the way it is working forces people who are looking to buy to be very specific as to what they are looking for. I buy things on impulse sometimes, the way this is I can't just cruise through things for sale and have something catch my eye.
If you look at what I post about most of the time, it should be pretty easy to figure out what I want to sell. If you want to know for sure, PM me.

I agree, I'm not a big fan of the new for sale section. Too difficult to navigate through and haven't even tried posting to it yet, but others have mentioned their frustration.
I created a thread about it in the News/Feedback section last October and Admin said it was on the list of things to do but nothing has changed yet.

I too am amazed thT there isn't a place to post items for sale-sure there is a "private party sale " area, but I can't seem to figure it out!

I would think with a forum this big there would be thousands of items for sale, but all I see is something from last August!

Must be harder than I think to set up a "For Sale" area

If you go to Used Tractors For Sale - Classifieds at TractorByNet.com - John Deere, Kubota, New Holland, Case IH, Agco and click on the "Search" button (without selecting anything) it will show you all 2000+ items that are for sale.

Yeah Aaron that worked and would work for they way I look for stuff to buy sometimes but in this case, I would like for my ad to appeal to (or target if you will) a smaller audience, specifically the people who frequent the attachments forum.
Now, I'm going shopping. :D

The classified section on TBN has never been anywhere close to useful for either sellers or buyers as best I can tell over the past ten years. I suspect TBN just hasn't put effort into it because it is difficult to monetize.

It depends on which is the cart and which is the horse. I can think of some forums that are wildly popular BECAUSE of their classified sections. Fred Miranda's photography forum is a good example. I suspect that a lot of the posters on that forum were first drawn there because of the classified section, which is extremely active.

If TBN would get its act together on the classifieds, I think more people would be drawn to TBN.
