/ Can I put a solar motion detector light in my barn and run the solar panel outside?

Here's an update on this. I have not put mine in yet but have inspired two others to run solar inside for an equipment building and it works 100% and is easy to do. The lights came from Costco or Sam's club ($30?) and had a long enough wire to put the panel outside and the light inside with no problem. It takes a miserable experience of trying to navigate a tightly packed equipment storage building in pitch black into a pleasurable event of no big deal. Yes, there are flashlights but they are always by the door when you're 60 feet away.
This is so simple I'm surprised everyone doesn't have one. Takes minutes to install and quality of these lights was good and exceptionally bright. You could even light up the woodpile for winter or part of the backyard or for security or side yards or remote sheds. Lights are great right now but I can only imagine the future quality. Next time lights are on sale I'm putting up several of them.
