can not decide

Looking at a few tractors. They all fit my needs pretty well with only slight differnces. Just can not decide wich point is more important.

1715 $8500, 809 hrs

1715 $9500, 154 hrs, MMM

1710 $8900, 500 hrs

1720 $7900, 3000 hrs, golf course tractor

1920 $11000, 1800 hrs, loader


I do need a loader but am willing to buy one, trying to keep the buget around $11000. Also want the best all around deal.

arb, Is the loader the only thing that you need? Do you need a mower also? I paid $13,700 for a used TC21d with loader, and MMM. If you don't need the MMM you can take about $1500 to $2000 off that price. I spotted a used TC21d with loader,MMM, and bagger for $14500. I would stay away from any tractor over 400 to 500 hrs. Just a thought. Good Luck.

Arb, same question re:mower. If you do need it and not a FEL, the 1715 w/MMM & 157 hrs is well worth a grand over the 1715 w/o mower with 650 plus more hours.
The 1920 is indeed a bigger tractor but the higher hours offsets the size/price differential IMHO.

I guess I'm one who puts a lot of consideration into the hours on a unit. From what I gather, most of the folks on this forum put less than a couple hundred hours at the most on their rigs yearly - many, much less (mine gets what I would call pretty substantial use and I average under 200). That translates into 15 - 20 years equivilant use on that 3000 hour 1720 and only about a year on the 1715 w/MMM. Would I think that 14 - 19 years of tractor use would be worth $1600? A no brainer! And I am assuming that the golf course rig has a mower on it (although they tend to use ganged rotaries). If not then it actually comes in at more than the 1715 after adding a mower!!

As was alluded, if you don't need a mower and do need FEL, a later model (Boomer?) used rig might be a better deal. Heck with all the deals out there now, maybe even a new one!

Hope this muddys the issue, er I mean, helps out a bit!
