Where do I begin.....
It's been unseasonably warm and dry here in Kentucky up until yesterday. Then, like Elvis sang about, we got that "Cold Kentucky Rain". Last night it dipped down to 33 windy, rainy degrees. This morning, at 4AM, as I was out feeding cows, I had to melt a thin glaze of ice off the truck windshield.

I've been whining all summer about the heat and dry weather. Now I got what I SAID I wanted.

My reply?

When's summer coming back??????????????????

Saturday was sunny and warm (high of 40), so I dropped three maples and two birches to get a head start on next year's firewood supply. Sunday we woke up to 3 inches of wet, sloppy snow and more coming down. Had to scramble to get all that wood off the ground and added to the wood pile! Rain today and tomorrow, but several inches of snow forecast for Wednesday! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Whew.. all you northern folk talk about the cold. I would LOVE to live somewhere where we actually got snow regularly. I've never been a summer person and am already looking forward to cold weather again by April each year around these parts.

We do get SOME snow.. but last year was unusual, we only got about 1/2" the whole winter. We usually tally up about 6-12 inches for a complete winter.

It gets expensive (summer) keeping the house at 66 year round. heheheh

sNOWED TUESDAY in hills up here ,up to a foot ,wet and heavy.Got 3 inches on the road on my way home from work, bald tires[may pops]on my car.I had an appointment for wednesday for new ones.Too late........the road crowned a little too much on that grade, first time in my entire life i have gone off the road.Sat down in a 4 ft ditch, with a half foot of running water in it.Im ok,cars ok,pride hurt.Yes i was only going 15 miles per hour.CARS DOWN HAVING TIRES PUT ON TODAY! THANK GOD FOR THE GOOD PEOPLE ON THE VIENNA FIRE DEPT WHO PULLED ME OUT ,AND SLOWED EVERY BODY DOWN TO PREVENT ANOTHER.They said there were 4 others that had just gone out a mile back,a couple 4 wheel drives.Chief didnt know how i made them steep grades with those tires. How i did it was i had to drive on the unpaved shoulder, only way i could get traction.half mile down the hill the roads were bare again.

Roger,

I tried the link and it is dead...some message about a programmig error /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I'd love to see some WV snow. Having lived there for 15+ yr back when, I still have a fondness for the State and the folks.

In the Pocono Mtns of NE PA we awoke to snow Tuesday AM (2 inches) and Wednesday AM (another 2 inches). It was slushy and only at higher elevations. Roads were good. I was glad we didn't get more as my plow is still buried in the garage...I usually get it out over Thanksgiving!
