Can somebody tell me what made these marks?

I don't think they are from the same thing. The marks on the hood are too wide and not as parallel and evenly spaced as the marks in the wood.

I also wonder why she noticed the marks in the wood? Was the pile close to her car?

I agree.. in the pictures, they don't look the same.. In person, the marks match a lot better.. I'm assuming that they parked near the pile of logs.. This claim of scratches came over two weeks after I had finished the clearing job.

It slipped off the log, several series of marks indicate several tries. Either it went flinging or flying around when it slipped and landed on the car hood, or some cretin drug it across the hood--just because.

This would make sense.
