So if I get it apart, I do not have a Lathe, is it just a regulkar oring bad that is leaking inside the valve, I will go try and get it apart tonight and see, but thanks for the great info, I did not know there was another seal inside
Thanks,
Jon

Yes, the seal (usually oring) is below under the stem.....the idea of the lathe is to grab it without doing any damage to the stem......these cartridge valves are technically not servicable but if you can unscrew it then you certainly can fix it.....just us some green loctite on the threads when you put it together (tightening up with the lathe chuck also)......

Some cartridge valves will not come apart so be aware you may need to replace it if it doesn't come apart right.......if you use vise/visegrip or pliers then you'll squash the guts/housing and render it junk......

Well I want to give a Great Big Thank you to WDCHYD and BATTY for posting that link, But WDCHYD you saved me $500,

I went to the garage, I had a stud remover that fit the place that you showed me that unscrews, well with my 24" 1/2" ratchet she would not break loose, so I figured it was a crimped type, so I took a tubing cutter and cut the end off like in Batty link, and pulled the insides out, the orings were bad on both, I put new orings on them and tig welded the cups back tot the end, put them in my 425 and fired her up and she ran a hour with no leaks so far, But I learned alot with this project and it saved even more,

Nice work jon..

I just now looked at the link from Batty and that was real clever....

Just Fri my lead man at work (Hydraulic Repair Shop) had a dilema with his own 1969 MF BH/Loader.....he whacked a special hose and cartridge valve right at the swing motor......(big mess)....the dealer just laughed and said "Good Luck, you'll never find that part"......

Not only did I make the special hose that was not avail, I made a new cartridge valve body with the CNC Lathe.......Very handy to have the right toys to do stuff with......

Like you, he saved a pile of money.....:D
