That's Kubota's pin on style quick attach mount. Basically, it eliminates the need of removing the top pins when you hook up to a loader attachment such as a bucket, forks, grapple etc.
The existing bucket and any other attachments for this will have to be made just like the regular pin on mount.

But if I understand you correctly, wouldn't I be limited to just Kubota's proprietary forks, and be out of luck if I wanted, say, a hydraulic grapple?

I'm just thinking that an SSQA style QA would give me a lot more flexibility in terms of fork length (I want 42"), etc....
