Can these be extended?

Came by a set of forks for sale.View attachment 437699View attachment 437700

My questions are can they be extended to 36-42"
and will they be strong enough to use on the FEL
and 3 ph with a max lift capacity of 1700 lbs.

If so, any suggestions as to material to weld on to extend?

My questions are regarding the forks. The brackets
I will need to cut and reconfigure.

These were used on a Bolens tractor. They fit onto a plow and
were used to move materials.

The forks are 3" wide and the upright bracket is 1/2" thick.

My forks are slightly less than 4" wide. I used a length of 2x4 tubing for the extension. Slide into the existing forks and use one bolt. You can probably use a 3" tubing. If they are a little tight, grind.

Cool- looks like a home-made grapple system. I would be concerned about bending the bucket with much load on the ends of those forks, though. For brush, just the ticket.
