Can Windows 10 play CD that was for Win XP? Can Win 10 leap back?

It's difficult to say whether the old software will work on Windows 10 without trying it.

If it doesn't work, and you are committed to continuing to use the old software, you can create a virtual PC to run XP within the Windows 10 PC. There is significant overhead to initially set it up. You basically do a clean Windows XP install to create the virtual PC. If you have an XP install disk, the virtual PC software is free.

free

That is all dependent upon being able to activate Windows XP. Microsoft shut down the activation of XP a few years back, so it'll only run 30 days and then shut down.

Well.....never mind.

Yes and No ;)
We had one program that couldn't make the transition form XP to Win7 so I'm fairly sure (but untested) that it wouldn't run on Win10.
There are some programs like VirtualBox some gamers use to run old games. Since ours was business related software we didn't feel confident (Virtual Box advised we shouldn't) going that route. It would be one thing to lose a saved game (unless of course you had a high score going ;)), quite another to lose years and years of business records.

Hmmm ---- interesting. I just upgraded my iMac. From a computer(iMac) new in 2013 running Mavericks 10.9.? to todays iMac running 10.13.4. So I connected my Seagate external hard drive storage unit to my new computer and low & behold - - the new computer can not read the info stored on the hard drive. Makes having the external storage unit somewhat like a PITA times two. I don't so much mind the lost documents as the pictures that can never be recreated.

Yes Coffeeman, he is the author of Word and yes he plays in WSOP.

After he left Microsoft, he hit the motivational tour and wrote a couple of books.

Hi..

Yes. He also likes to play Video Poker. I saw story in 2007 where Brodie plays at Caesars in Vegas. First day he lost $$. Second day he hit 2 $60,000 Hits & one $240,000 hit.
He called it a day. Next day he played again. Hit another $240,000 and Caesars shut machine down. I have played video poker since 80s. It's a fun game and way better play than
slots. Casinos don't like video poker and have tightened pay tables, making games unplayable. After watching industry going bankrupt in Atlantic City and Vegas etc , maybe
tightening payback partially resulted in losing customer play.

Brodie writes about that trip, " It sounded like the start of a letter to Penthouse Form." It's a fun short article titled Lucky Me. Includes pictures of win.
He does a lot more than just play cards. Seems like a great regular guy.

You can read story of that day at his web site Lion Tales Click on Favorite Lion Tales. I'm posting link as, in my opinion, it's a fun story.

Cheers......Coffeeman
