Can you snow blow with the X300?

Hehe... you can blow snow with anything, if they make a blower for the tractor and you're not in a hurry. FWIW, we had a 6 (yes, 6) HP Simpson-Sears Craftsman 'tractor' that came with a removable 36" mower and an optional snow thrower when I was a kid. With a 3 speed transaxle belt drive gearbox and belt drive PTO, my dad and I used that thing on 1.25 acres of grass all summer and clearing over 3000 sq. ft. of gravel driveway in Canadian winters from about 1968 to 1978. AND, we sold it still running in 1982! We tore up a couple of sets of transaxle gears in the process, and did a valve job or two along the way, but you know what, it outlasted the 8 HP "lawn tractor" he replaced it with by a factor of 2:1.

I have a friend in Massachusetts who has a X300 and uses it to blow snow. He has a driveway aproximately 60-70 feet long with a fair slope. It works fine. He has problems in the summer mowing a steep slope. Apparently the machine has no differential lock.

Earlier this year I bought an X300R and blower combo, similar to my dad's old 322/blower combo. But the dealer was not confident that it would handle blowing up my hill and before I took delivery I backed out and got a used 2210 instead.

From all the research I did the X300 with blower is great but can lose traction on hills, even with chains. It should have no problem on a 100' drive, I was buying it for a gravel drive that is 1000' long with 100' of rise.

I really liked the rear bagger/blower combo on the X300R, I still miss it.
