The black pipe is the exhaust. The yellow protruberance in the front is the extra hydraulic fluid reservoir/cooler for the large side mounted mower. The snorkel hood scoop is the final item that makes this tractor equipped for mowing excess algae along roadside streams and ditches. You just need to understand that the proper operating mode has the tractor in the water about up to the hood and the snorkel is exactly that, just like in that old Jeep ad when they had a guy in scuba gear driving along the bottom of a lake in a CJ.
