can you tow an HST 5030?

Well, John Bud, thanks for the definition of exactly what happens.... am glad I did BOTH, and pulled only very short way ..less than 100 yards... and at slow speed. I don't think I hurt aything... if I did..too late now Will keep my eyes open to try to determine WHY the fuse blew.

It's always good to know what those levers and such are actually doing!

I would look for a wire that is rubbing. Those can be real buggers to find.

Wrong!

The clutch will separate the engine from the transmission, but the wheels will still be driving the HST pumps (dry).

Range selector in N separates the differential from the transmission and saves the HST from running dry.

Correct me if I am wrong if both are used clutch/nuetral will the HST still turn? I think not. Happy New Year

The only thing that matters is that the range transmission is in neutral. Clutch doesn't hurt or help.

Power flow:
Engine>Clutch>HST Unit>Range transmission>axles
