Has anyone mounted a canopy on the ROPS of their Yanmar? West Tennessee sun can be stifling from June through August, and I was thinking about taking a flyer on one for my YM2000B.

Do you mind sharing pics and reviews?

Would you buy it again?

If so, why?

If not, why not?

Thanks!

There are a few nice canopies out there in the 2-400 hundred range. I would might have went that route had I had something to mount it to from the start. While they are nice (canopies in general) they do get caught up branches and such and can be a pain at times.

If you already have the ROPS, you should be able to attach to it. Just do not drill holes in your ROPS. There are a wide variety of ‘U-bolts’ available at hardware stores. A bit of tubing can be worked onto them to to reduce rattle noise if desired. A bit of silicone caulk should water proof holes in the wood for the bolts. You might wish to add a bit of 1x2 or bigger close to the edges for reinforcement and allow some rear overhang for a bit of counterbalance.
All in all I see no reason why wood would not be an option if the ROPS is present.
If no ROPS, I question if you would get the necessary support from a wood frame that would fit in the area and still allow free access to the tractor function.

I have ROPS.

My post regarding wood was made in jest to point out my total lack of skill in metal working.

I have seen guys make canopies out of lots of crazy items so why not a piece of plywood? Makes as much sense as a dumpster lid.

have you thought about a hard cab with AC and heat?. I think Tennessee gets very hot and humid in the summer..

While a cab would be amazing, there are simply too many other things competing for a limited pool of money.
