I am getting a **** of a run around from Femco trying to purchase a canopy. Since April 1st, get exuses of production delays etc. Now over a month later I might be able to get one but price has went up from earkier quote by almost $50. Lacal JD dealer is no help!
Anyone bought a unit off of Ebay from "TheSmartFarmer" out of Tennesee?
Would like a Westendorph "CoolCap" but more money than I want to spend.

Any other vendors out there that I might try.Looking for Fiberglass or ABS plastic, roughly 48" x 60" in JD Green.
With bracketry to fit 2" X 6" UPRIGHTS.

Thanks,
Tim

Have you considered the tuftops? They are a hard plastic, but can be quickly removed if needed.. There is a guy on ebay selling them as well

there was a guy on ebay selling the tufftops but I cant seem to find him now

These tops are "really" built small to avoid oversized freight charges - they are not going to cast a lot of shade. Look at size/dimensions when researching canopies . So customers cut the dimension out of pieceof carboard and place on top of the ROPS to verfiy size before they purchase.

Firebird Fiberglass

Mine has been great, can order from Deere dealer.

I've whacked mine on low branches hard enough that I thought it would get damaged but has not, I bought mine for snow and rain but is great for sun to.

Perry Manufacturing makes a metal canopy that is highly rated and osha compliant for ~$500 I bought one several years ago for my Ford 4610 and it's been great.

you could also try TractorSunshade.com nice product and comes in every color. You need to fins a dealer that stocks them in your color ( or will start carrying them) or freight is ridiculous.

I agree on the small size.. I have a 50x50 umbrella from TSC and I would need the mid size (XL) tuff top to even get close to that coverage..

I made one my self because none of the aftermarket ones seemed large enough to do a good job. Mine also has some depth to it which helps a lot. I used 2x2 wood for the frame and covered it with a heavy duty, tan-colored boat cover canvas. I ran a couple metal supports diagonally to the rollbar which bolt on near the fold hinge. I also drilled a couple holes thru the top of the rolbar to bolt down the top. Canvas/wood construction keeps it very light and putting it on and off is a 3 minute job requireing the removal of (4) 3/8 bolts. It is surprisingly durable and has held up for 4 years without needing any repairs. It honestly works better than the big, old fiberglass canopy that I had on my previous tractor. Taper towards the front make it work under and around trees a lot better and light weight makes it much easier to get on and off. Also, it did not cost me a dime other than about 2 hrs time because I had all the materials laying around my barn. I can honestly say that I am nearly as comfortable with this canopy under the hot old summer sun as I am in the air-conditioned cabs of larger tractors. One thing is for sure, after you have had a good canopy, you will have a hard time going back to an open tractor. I hear folks say the same thing about cabs on smaller tractors. The big difference is that the canopy guys end up with several thousand dollars cash in thier pockets to use for other things. We can also remove it easy to fold our rollbar and get into a std 7 ft door if need be and never have to replace any of those expensive curved glass windows.
