I think I would pass on the redline cut, as the outer area of the top is widened to give it more strength. That little bit comes in handy when running into tree limbs and vines. I like the repair it idea.

there are 2 sets of holes

ones that are supposed to be there, on the sides toward the back which are hand holds....

and the ones at the fronts with the jagged edges which is were the front mounts USED to be. (remember a golf cart uses 4 corner mounts) im going to have a cantalevered design with some braceing at the back.

So i went on a golf cart place hunt....

Turns out theres one on an outer road on my way to work, back in a corner, hard to get to, and you could see the gave yard of carts in the back... perfect i thought....

On your way to work ???

I would like to find a good top also.

Most likely its made from HDPE (high density polyethylene). Look around the underside for the recycling triangle with a number 2 in the middle.

I would add a backing of some sort to the underneath side. Thin foil insulation securely glued in would be a good choice, then add auto body BONDO to patch the holes from the top. After the BONDO dried, I would sand it smooth and Paint the entire top. They sell paint that is made for plastic surfaces. You could even paint it to match your tractor.

Got the tube bent up for the upper mount, need to get the attchment plate and brace welded up.... Ill snap a few pics....

but with the delivery of 2 unexpected chickens, a chicken tractor has become the "project of the week" so they can have a temp-permant home .....
