Can't delete 'New Folder' on desktop

One other thing...
If you can see the .ini file at some point, try to open it with Notepad or Wordpad. They are normally not anything but a text file with some non-descript strings of numbers and labels. That might look something like:
[.ShellClassInfo]
UICLSID={7BD29E00-76C1-11CF-9DD0-00A0C9034933}
I searched my computer and found almost 50 of these "desktop.ini" files in various places, most often in the "Documents and Settings" subdirectory. I just can't figure out why some program keeps putting the file on your desktop. That would be pretty irritating.
